1968 Lotus Elan +2 – recent garage find with just 27,000

Exciting recent discovery of an early Lotus Elan plus 2.
This 1968 example has been stood since around 1973 until we discovered it in a dusty garage last month. The car is pleasingly complete, unmodified and after 50 years of slumber now starts and runs, rather well too. We took the precaution of carrying out a boroscope check of the cylinders and cam cover removal first showed no wear or rust to any parts.
Amazingly it’s driven just 27,000 genuine miles from new; the condition inside, outside and underneath is testament to how little miles it’s covered.
It’s all ready for the next owner to complete a restoration and with no tricky parts to source and low mileage examples now reaching £40-50,000 it’s a rare find and a very worthwhile project.
