1969 VW Beetle 1300 – Low owners, solid & highly original, superb condition & history

When a really good Beetle comes along we can’t help but get excited… not only is this one a solid and very original car it drives, and I cannot stress this enough, absolutely superbly.

A significant file includes a great deal of invoices for works carried out even with an original Owners Handbook. Records show that by 1984 it had covered 74,494 miles, an average of just under 5,000 per year, and in the following 40 years covered a further 20,400 miles.
Unusually low owners, of the 5 previous owners 4 lived on the same road, with 2 from the same family and we do have history of the car being garaged from circa 1995.

It’s in extraordinary condition, a solid car thats had some body/paint refreshed but pleasingly retains much of its original rare Toga White paint, showing charming but minor patina for its 55 years on the road.

The interior is incredible, bar a modern stereo and tachometer it’s completely original, a very rare find indeed.

Mechanically its in great shape; in 2015 at 85,000 miles it had an engine rebuild carried out by the legendary Lex of Henley Beetles and the file contains a substantial number of invoices showing that VW and air cooled specialists have carried out routine works and maintenance with no expense spared, even giving it new Continental tyres all round. That specialist care shows, it drives without any rattles; steering is direct, brakes are sharp and the clutch and gearbox are superb, as a really nice and well thought out touch it even has a battery isolator switch fitted.

A really sharp and stand out example of a fantastic useable & practical classic that’s on the button, needs nothing and is ready to go.
