Description
I once heard the Mk2 Golf GTi described as ‘that difficult second album’….it can’t possibly beat the first one can it?
Much like my first listen of The Stone Roses Second Coming CD I was hooked from the start and, full disclosure, have loved and owned these cars for over 30 years; so have to admit enormous bias for a Mk2.
I have a wish list for a Golf GTi and this one ticks all my boxes: 3 door, big bumper, smoked lenses, steel sunroof, Brilliant Black paint, super condition and (stay with me) an 8v engine. Now I know a 16v will get me to 60 mph a second quicker and has a few more horses under the bonnet, but I also find them quite torque shy at lower revs and I just really enjoy throwing 8v’s around a little more; I may even be so bold as to say I reckon I could get an 8v off the line quicker than a 16v.
This car is in particularly nice condition, with no cracking to the dash, rips to the seats or speaker shaped holes cut out of the parcel shelf or door cards, even the digital clock is clear.
It has a super specification, MOT’d to June 2025 and is ready to go.
