2001 Fiat Seicento – 42,000 miles, £4,000 spend & unbelievable underneath

The Fiat Seicento (Fiat 600 in Italian) was introduced in 1997 as a replacement for the Cinquecento and was later rebadged at the Fiat 600 to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the original.

It’s got everything you need in a ‘city car’; nippy 900cc engine with a 5-speed manual gearbox, front wheel drive, progressive power steering, a 3 door hatchback that’s deceptively spacious, turns on a six-pence, squeezes into parking spaces other cars won’t and will still cruise down a motorway at 60/70 mph.

The SX offered significant upgrades, such as colour coded bumpers, electric windows, central locking and a sunroof – but this car offers significantly more.

Finished in white with an immaculate Fiat Blue interior this car has been subject to a mechanical and bespoke cosmetic refresh at a cost of over £4,000. Normally we’d say it’s ’like new’ underneath, but we think its better than new, just look at the photos!

To add to to the rarity its only covered 42,995 miles with 5 former keepers and a fantastic file. The original bookpack includes the Owners Handbook, Service Book with 10 stamps, two sets of keys and a collection of invoices including a detailed account of the recent £4,000 spend.

Unlike the problematic Sporting range with known water-pump and belt issues, this super example has the bulletproof and super reliable pushrod engine.

This has had a fortune spent on it and is running superbly, just completed a 100 mile run, mostly motorway without missing a beat.There are some age related marks to the body, as shown in the photos; minor bumper scuffs on the corners, some areas of paint pen correction and a linear dent in the passenger door.

We think this is a one-off and the best Seicento on the market; a cool (and very easy to insure) daily driving city car, a stand out modern classic for meets & shows, one for the collection, a modification project or we could see this behind an RV as the perfect ‘motorhome car’.
